stressPost-traumatic stress (syndrome) disorder (PTSD) is a debilitating condition that follows a terrifying event.

For most people, PTSD starts within about three months of the event. For others the signs of PTSD don’t show up until years later.

PTSD can occur at any age, including childhood.
 

Post-Traumatic Stress Syndrome presents a complex set of symptoms, including insomnia, depression, anxiety, substance abuse and problems in interpersonal relationships.

Though most research has been conducted with men, the syndrome is found in both men and women, with women actually having a higher prevalence rate.
