Vedic Meditation is easy, effortless and refreshingly simple to learn and achieve results

The regular practice of Vedic Meditation has been proven to reduce High Blood Pressure, without the need for dramatic changes to one’s life style.

The Vedic Meditation technique, originates from ancient India. This timeless tradition of knowledge – the same knowledge base that brought us yoga, Ayurveda and much of Eastern philosophy – has been maintained and taught in its purity through an unbroken master-disciple Vedic tradition, for thousands of years to the present day.

Learning how to Meditate is really easy. It is neither mind-control nor mental discipline, it’s not concentration, a contemplation, a philosophy or a way of life.

By the end of the course you will have all the knowledge and experience you need to meditate on your own at home; you have learned a technique, not become part of a group or organisation.

Unlike many other meditation techniques, Vedic meditation is renowned for being easy to integrate into the busy lifestyle of a householder.

The benefits of this practice have been studied and verified by some of the world’s leading universities and research institutes.

As well as calming and quietening the mind, Vedic Meditation can improve concentration, adding more clarity and control of the thought process. With this clarity (and control) of thought, priorities and perceptions of urgency are often put back into perspective and a better sense of trust in our own judgment and decisions is often experienced.

What is Vedic Meditation – in brief:
Before we get into what the Vedic Meditation program is, which is quite specific, and what Vedic Meditation does, which is quite a lot, it might be good to consider some of the things people mistakenly think Vedic Meditation is.

First off, the Vedic Meditation program is not a religion. It involves no religious beliefs or practices. In fact, the practice of Vedic Meditation requires no beliefs, religious or otherwise. You don’t have to believe in gravity for gravity to work. Similarly, you don’t have to believe in Vedic Meditation either. As long as you practice it, it works.

There are no dietary restrictions involved.

There are no exercises either; no pretzel positions, no full lotus, no “keep your spine straight while meditating”. Vedic Meditation is practiced while sitting comfortably – on a chair, on a bed, on the floor, anywhere.

Vedic Meditation involves no concentration. This is an important point, the one which separatesVedic Meditation from all other “meditation”. Concentration means controlling the mind in some way.

Vedic Meditation involves no mental control.

It is effortless.

This is why we can say without fear of contradiction that Vedic Meditation is effoctless to learn and even easier to practice.

Vedic Meditation is Absolutely Effortless

meditation-elderly-female-150The difference between the effort involved in saying “one” each time you exhale and the effortlessness of Vedic Meditation may not seem too great initially; but when you begin multiplying the effort involved by twenty minutes, by twice a day, by the rest of your life, the drudgery becomes obvious.

And here we should also mention that Vedic Meditation is not a contemplation, which is thinking about something. A person may say: “I am meditating on the meaning of life”; and by that they mean: “I am thinking about the meaning of life.” Vedic Meditation involves no such thinking about something.

Finally, the Vedic Meditation is not difficult. All the benefits mentioned on this site come from the twenty-minute, twice-daily practice of Vedic Meditation, which, as we’ve just noted is effortless.

Learning Vedic Meditation involves no difficulty either – four two hour sessions, and that’s basically it. The only difficulty then becomes setting a side the twenty minutes twice a day. However, because when we find something so rewarding and beneficial in life, such as bathing, being with loved ones, reading, making time for Vedic Meditation it is not really difficult.

So, Vedic Meditation does not involve religion, beliefs, diets, exercises, concentration, contemplating, or difficulty.
